What were you doing before you started your business?
I was working as a Psychologist for another company
Why did you start your business?
I wanted to become my own business owner. I knew I could run a better Psychology Practice
Who do you look up to in business or who do you strive to be like?
Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
Still working in my Psychology practice with another 2 locations open.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs starting out?
Get a team of people around you who you trust. Ask questions and take the advice of people who have done what you are trying to do.
What is the best thing about owning your own business?
Not having to answer to a boss. Having the freedom to do things my own way.
What is the worst thing about owning your own business?
Being responsible for everyone and everything that happens in my business
What is your greatest achievement to date? (business related)
Staring a second practice.
What is your greatest achievement to date? (non-business related)
Being In a happy relationship with my wife for 16 years.
If you weren’t doing what you’re doing now, what would you do?
Being a full time rugby league coach.
How do you plan to grow your business?
Networking and marketing of my services. Offer a wider range of Psychology related services. Working with experts in marketing/social media.
What platforms are you currently using to achieve success?
Business networking, social media, online/offline advertising.
What platforms do you want to start using to achieve success (but don’t have the time to)?
What is one skill you would love to learn?
When you were younger, did you ever think you would become an entrepreneur? If yes, why?
Yes. My grandfather ran his own business as well as my father. Owning a business is in my blood line.
What does a typical day of yours consist of?
Working with clients 8 -10 hours a day. Looking after staff and business development.
What is the best business idea you’ve had, that you’ll never use? (I promise I won’t steal it)…
I had an idea for postal boxes with 24 hours access for parcels like the ones Australia are currently using.
How has becoming an entrepreneur made you a better person?
I am more in touch with people and feel that I can offer better advice for people.
What did you want to be ‘when you grow up’?
A professional Rugby League player.
